The Rhode Island Real People Project
We believe that every story has the power to challenge perceptions, break down stereotypes, and inspire action. Our project aims to humanize Rhode Islanders with lived experience of homelessness and amplify their voices. We firmly believe housing is a human right and no one should be sleeping outside.
What is the RI Real People Project?
We are a community-driven initiative amplifying the voices of individuals impacted by housing insecurity. Through compelling video stories, we aim to shed light on the real people who experience homelessness in Rhode Island. Our project aims to foster empathy, break down stereotypes, and build bridges toward a more compassionate understanding of unhoused people in Rhode Island. Harmful stigmas rationalize the unequal and subhuman treatment of unhoused folks in Rhode Island
